   King Hezekiah was a real man who faced very real problems and faced them all alone. His country was under siege by the most powerful military machine of his day. This left him in a state of financial collapse, living in an atmosphere of plummeting morale, and totally alone to come up with an answer.

   While the clothes and customs of those in his day may have been different from ours, the world of Hezekiah was not unlike the one that we face today. Like him, we live in a time often controlled by fears that can keep us so focused on the task of living, that we can forget the One who brings life. 

   From his point of weakness, Hezekiah crafted one of the most honest and beautiful prayers of the Bible; and then recorded it so that we could listen in and learn from him.
